Recreational Observation

Up Edith Creek, down Edith Rib into Paradise Valley

Dec. 20, 2015, noon PST

Weather: Obscured/OVC, Precip: NO / S2, Moderate Winds from W.

Snowpack: HN 12cm Storm Slab (STM RP). Multiple previous storm slabs down to 33cm rain crust (CTH RP / CTN). Any sort of warming and precip will stress snowpack. Storm slab was not as reactive to tests as expected, Wind Slab problem seemed more likely due to moderate winds and 12cm of new.

Area Description: MRNP: Paradise, Edith Creek Paradise Valley

Avalanches: Golden Gate. Was only able to see debris, but was not able to see type/size/path due to fog. Report from ranger that it was new on Saturday morning.
