Dec. 19, 2015, 8 p.m. PST
Weather: Snow until about 8am, then clearing with partial sun. No wind at pass level.
Snowpack: 2-4' of unconsolidated powder, more in some places. We had to turn around well short of the destination (Lodge Lake) on account of extremely slow wading through the snow. Several times when I was in the lead it was almost up to my shoulders. Crazy awesome amount of powder.
Area Description: PCT south from Snoqualmie Pass, towards Lodge Lake
Avalanches: Alpental was setting off explosive charges in the morning as we started out, and we heard several resulting avalanches. Also saw one small loose dry on west side of Guye Peak.
