Heather Meadows to Mazama Bowl and East Slopes of Herman.

Dec. 16, 2015, 6 p.m. PST

Weather: Sky - High Few all day Wind - L, N Temps stayed cold all day -6.5 deg C at 5000 ft, 1200 hrs -7.8 deg C at 4200 ft, 1700 hrs

Snowpack: Overall stable, with few pockets of wind slab. Did not see anything move, but also did not have time to poke in to see too closely in suspect areas. 6000 ft, E asp, 27 deg ECTN 21 down 15-20 cm mid-storm layers previous mfc was down 55cm Of more interest for this next cycle was the variety of potential weak layers that were on the surface. 3mm graupel was observed rolling down slope (widespread). In addition larger SH and PP grains (~3mm) were observed on surface.

Avalanches: Very small D1 avalanche was triggered in W aspect at ridge line from small cornice.
