Recreational Observation

Ascended west facing slopes on skis to Bullion Basin. Shallow wind and rain effected snow under layer of dense powder snow. No signs of recent avalanche activity. We skied the same aspect on the way out. Conditions were good, but thin in places. Clearly a lot of the recent snow accumulation had melted leaving behind a consolidated base layer. For this reason we did not dig a pit so formal snow profile to report this time.
