Recreational Observation

Lot to ridge saddle, to lake, return by slopes and road.

Dec. 15, 2015, noon PST

Weather: Overcast, calm, some precip started around 1300 as not exactly snow, maybe freezing rain or pellets.

Snowpack: New snow is right side up and very well bonded to the rain crust that is now 65 cm down at our profile on south aspect just below the lake, elev 5000. HS 150cm. No evidence of wind slab or storm slab anywhere on our route. Some settling cracks around trees. We did not descend into Moonlight Basin. (I had more data but my field book fell out of a pocket. Homemade cookies for you if you find it.) Lovely skiing with a few sun breaks!

Area Description: Skyline ridge and lake north of Stevens Pass
