Stevens Pass

Dec. 6, 2015, 2 p.m. PST

Snowpack: We did two compression tests that failed on isolation of the column down 75cm (CTV SPQ1) - see included photo. There was no visible hoar or faceting at this interface, but it did transition from FInger to Pencil hard. HS: 115cm.

Avalanches: Several debris piles from fresh storm slab slides observed on both the front and back side of Stevens. From a distance the crowns looked to be the depth of the storm slab (around 40cm). Both were R2/D1s, around 20' wide and 30' long on steeper terrain.
