Goat Mountain Summer Trail

Feb. 26, 2018, 3:30 p.m. PST

Weather: Overcast skies with light winds and very light snow

Snowpack: HS is 375cm, Targeted observations near the 2/8 crust resulted in DT11 SP on rounding facets 1.5mm down 1 meter, also PST End 50/100 down 1 meter. Another observation was a sensitive weak layer down 130 cm this interface had sudden collapse results on a repeated Deep Tap Test. This was below a knife hard crust and slid on 2mm facets. The previous 24 hour snow had covered recently formed windslab making it hard to detect in this near treeline cross loaded zone.
