Recreational Observation

Clara lake trail to then upper Clara lake basin.

Dec. 6, 2015, 3 p.m. PST

Weather: Partly cloudy, temp estimated 35deg F

Snowpack: 37 cm new on a sun/rain/melt freeze crust. Experienced settling on all aspects, with shooting cracks, a pit showed the new sitting on a crust with un supportive snow below. We skied new snow on well anchored slopes but avoided any snow that fell on continuous old snow. As I'm sure will be noted Mission had unstable slopes throughout the area.

Area Description: Clara lake basin

Avalanches: Small natural realeases, observed, advised of larger realeases in the Mission Peak area.
