Skiing in SE part of basin

Dec. 5, 2015, 12:30 p.m. PST

Weather: Snowing hard. Wet. Wind from the south

Snowpack: At 6,000 ft - I dug a hasty column with my pole - down around 45 cm. The new snow was pretty unconsolidated but was becoming more so as the afternoon progressed. The column sheared of pretty cleanly at around 30 cm. The slab between the new snow and the shear held together well. I saw angular crystals that looked just like the picture you had posted in the Stevens Pass forecast. I thought this would be potentially useful information. Thanks for all your great work - it's really appreciated.

Area Description: Silver Basin - Crystal Mtn.
