Weather Synopsis for Tuesday & Saturday

A deep trough in the NE Pacific and a strong westerly are pushing a significant storm through our region.  Stormy conditions will develop for all areas today as warm frontal moisture streams into the area. Snow levels will rise and even the Cascade Passes should see some rain mix in during the afternoon hours.

The associated cold front will sweep through the Cascades in the early evening and snow levels will plummet overnight. Post-frontal showers will pile up the snow along the west slopes of the Cascades and Mt. Hood Tuesday night and moderate westerly winds will create blustery conditions.

Showers will diminish Wednesday morning but don't expect much of a respite.  Light warm frontal moisture from the next frontal system will begin to impact the Olympics and north Cascades by Wednesday afternoon.
