Weather Synopsis for Monday night through Wednesday
A developing warm from will lift northward across the forecast area through Monday night and gradually weaken in place through the afternoon Tuesday. Most areas will see periods of moderate snow overnight with the heavy snowfall in many areas, especially Mt Hood where a greater flow is directed. Snow levels will moderate gradually Monday night and Tuesday, but mainly from about Mt Rainier southward with cooler air remaining in the north.
Low pressure will weaken over the region Tuesday afternoon and night allowing for diminishing precipitation through the day. The Mt Hood area will continue to receive light snowfall through Wednesday as another low-pressure system renews moisture to that area as it approaches from the southwest.
The remainder of the WA Cascade and Olympics will taper to scattered showers Tuesday afternoon and be mainly dry Wednesday.
