Weather Synopsis for Wednesday & Saturday

A split upper trough and weak front will move across the Northwest on Wednesday. The south part of the trough will move to California and there won't be a lot of flow aloft over the Northwest. The front is not very organized and so like the NWS the precipitation type in the forecast will be showers. But a cooler air mass following the front and in the upper trough should move to the Northwest Wednesday night. A convergence zone is indicated by the Tuesday afternoon WRF model in the north Cascades near Glacier Peak Wednesday evening.

A weak ridge and weak surface high pressure should move across the Northwest Wednesday night and Thursday. This should give some cloud and sun breaks Thursday afternoon mainly in the south Cascades and east of the crest.

Increasing southwest flow aloft should cause the next slow moving front to begin to arrive over the Northwest on Thursday night.
