Remember that most avalanche accidents are preventable. Choose wisely...since for the most part Choice NOT Chance determines when and if an avalanche accident occurs. Please think about the potential consequences of avalanches on any slope, and decrease your chances of being involved by proper planning, good decision making, good route selection, objective stability evaluation, and an open mind to modifying or changing your goal(s) for the day. Be sure to listen to and respect the input from all members of your party.
